Thursday May 10 - Leave from Green Bay Airport at 10:09am
Green Bay to Detroit, MI
Detroit, MI to Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo, Japan to Guangzhou, China
Arrive in Guangzhou, China at 10:45pm on Friday May 11 (due to
(time change, 14 hours ahead)

Saturday May 12 - Travel to Jinan City, Shandong Province, stay at the Quan Cheng Hotel

Sunday May 13 - Meet Sydney at 10:00am!!! She will be brought to
our hotel. This will be 8:00pm on Saturday (due to the time change) for those of you at home

Monday May 14 - Travel to Civil Affairs Bureau of Shandong Province for adoption registration and to the Notary public office for notarization.

Tues-Thur May 15-17 - Wait for adoption registration certificate and notarized documents and Sydney's passport

Friday May 18 - Travel to Guangzhou by flight, stay at the White Swan Hotel

Saturday May 19 - Visa Medical Check up for Sydney

Sunday May 20 - Free day

Monday May 21 - Visa application dossiers submitted by our guide, medical report collected

Tuesday May 22 - Travel to the US consulate for visa ceremony

Wednesday May 23 - Leave Guangzhou at 8:20am
Guangzhou to Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo to Detroit, MI
Detroit to Green Bay
Arrive at Green Bay airport same day (due to time change) at
5:24 pm

After carefully considering all our options we finally booked our flights! Here goes:

Leaving Thursday, May 10th, out of Green Bay, WI, at 10:09am to Detroit, MI. (1 hr 17min)
Detroit, MI to Tokyo, Japan (13 hrs)
Tokyo, Japan to Guangzhou, China (5 hrs 20min)
Arriving at Guangzhou on Friday, May 11th at 10:45pm


Leaving Wednesday, May 23rd, out of Guangzhou, China at 8:20am to Tokyo, Japan (4 hrs 20 min)
Tokyo, Japan to Detroit, MI (11 hrs 40min)
Detroit, MI to Green Bay, WI (1 hr 13min), arriving on Wednesday May 23rd at 5:24pm

and............we're home.

Excellent News

The long awaited Travel Approval has reached the desk of our social worker, Sara. We are feeling an EXTREME sense of relief to finally have this under our belts! Now for the fun part (NOT).....booking the flight. UGH. We take care of booking our flight there but our adoption agency handles all the rest. Whew! There is a lot of "inter-country" travel arrangements to be made such as a flight to Sydney's hometown of Jinan city, a flight to Guangzhou to finalize the adoption, train ride,etc.. Anyway, our Consulate appointment is scheduled for Monday, May 21st. Our whole trip is planned around this very important date. This appointment is at the end of our 14 day trip and this is where the adoption will be finalized and Sydney Rose Geroux will OFFICIALLY be ours!!! We will keep ya'll posted on all the dates as we get them.
